12/25: Christmas Day Game: LAKERS vs. LA Clippers Q-by-Q Reaction

Q4:

LAC 94 LAL 84

Through three quarters, this game was a blowout. Then, in the 4th quarter, the Lakers almost gave the Clippers a heart attack. Where was this effort the whole game? I must admit, I had a smile this quarter because it looked like the Clippers would have an epic collapse like they did against the Rockets in the playoffs. Entertaining quarter, but the effort was in vain and the Clippers pulled it out. Stay tuned for the full recap.

Q3:

LAC 85 LAL 57

The Lakers can't get any points, not even from the free throw line. 9-21 from the free throw line through three quarters of this game and the Clippers are just picking them apart. This is not a surprising outcome, but the free throw shooting for the Lakers this game, my goodness.

Q2:

LAC 60 LAL 44

Kobe Bryant found some life this quarter, hitting a pair of impossible threes to ignite the crowd. It's still not enough though. Whenever the Lakers look they're responding, the Clippers respond back in a big way to retain the lead or better yet, widen it up. It is what it is. Onto the halftime report.

Q1:

LAC 32 LAL 21

Paul Pierce's air ball at the end ensues hilarity much to the delight of the Staples Center crowd. Other than that, the start is what you expect. The Clippers are too good offensively and when they're in transition off turnovers, it spells bad news for the Lakers and the Lakers committed 4 turnovers this quarter. Luckily, D'Angelo Russell and surprisingly, Roy Hibbert are off to a good start and they're lone bright spots for the Lakers offense.
