After seeing the final score of the Utah game, I was blinded by rage and understandably so because the Lakers' young core didn't bother to show up. Then the D'Angelo Russell secretly filming Nick Young fiasco happened, putting Russell's future with the Lakers in serious jeopardy. Despite all this negative talk and the turmoil, this win against the Miami Heat was something the Lakers needed to take their minds off all the drama that has happened the last 48 hours. And the young core definitely showed up big in the thrilling win against Miami last night. Jordan Clarkson lead the Lakers in scoring with 26 points, adding 6 boards, Julius Randle went back to being the double-double machine with 13 points and 14 rebounds, also hitting the game winning shot as the Lakers overcame the Heat 100-102 in overtime. D'Angelo Russell despite all the bad vibes towards him, did enough, chipping in 16 points. He didn't have a good shooting night, 6-19 from the field, but he did just enough. Roy Hibbert almost recorded a double-double of 12 points, 9 rebounds, and adding 3 blocks and Lou Williams lead all scorers off the bench with 11 points. The rant on Wednesday, it was in the heat (no pun intended) of the moment and credit where credit is due, the Lakers' future responded big time with huge adversity clouding over them.
