No one needed this game more than the Lakers, but despite taking it to the defending champs, they couldn't build momentum and seal the game. Dwight Howard was the Lakers' top performer with 13 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 assists, but missed two crucial free throws (one horrible air ball included) and to add insult to injury, the team combined 16 turnovers leading to the LeBron James and Dwyane Wade show as they didn't even need the rest of the Heat players to play a complete all-around game to beat the Lakers 99-90, just embarrassingly letting them run wild. Kobe Bryant tallied 22 points, but couldn't find the shooting touch against the suffocating Miami D. MWP added 16 points and Pau Gasol, returning from concussion and Antawn Jamison lead the bench with 12 points each.
