Lakers Drop 1st Road Game to Jazz; Still Remain Competitive

*Stats from Yahoo! Sports and NBA.com*

As I said before, expect a lot of growing pains from this Lakers squad, good and bad. The veterans came to play while the young guns left more to be desired out on the floor. Luol Deng was the Lakers' top performer, notching a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 5-12 from the field, but the Lakers lose a tough one to the Jazz a few months after Kobe Bryant dropped 60 points on the team in his farewell game in a 89-96 loss. Nick Young added 13 points, despite shooting 3-7 from the field and Lou Williams came off the bench with 17 points. Meanwhile, the young core were ice cold this game. D'Angelo Russell scored 9 points, shooting 3-14 from the field, Julius Randle only notched 7 points, Jordan Clarkson notched only 4 points off the bench, and Brandon Ingram managed just 2 points off the bench before exiting the game with a knee injury.

Final Score: @ Utah 89-96 [L]
