The good news is I was able to catch the 4th quarter of the game. I've been keeping track of the score as soon as I had the opportunity in my night class. It wasn't a good sign as the Kings were pummeling them early on. As soon as I got home, the Lakers were trailing only by just 3 in the 3rd quarter. Luckily, I was able to get home on time for the 4th quarter. This team is already better than the last few seasons. There is absolutely no quit in this team. I've said in the preview, if the young core is able develop faster than expected, they could make some noise. Luke Walton, the coaching staff and the veteran players are doing their jobs in complementing the young players. If I can recall, the Lakers were trailing as many 19 in this game. DeMarcus Cousins was having his way in the first half and they made the adjustment to double team him on defense and Cousins wasn't able to get anything going. D'Angelo Russell got hot in 3rd quarter, finishing up with 17 points. I heard that was key for the Lakers to get within striking distance. In the 4th quarter, the veterans started to take over. Mozgov stepped up his game. Nick Young and Lou Williams scored a couple of threes for the Lakers to get back and ultimately get in the lead and win 101-91. Sweet Lou was the leading scorer with 21 points, Young had 16 points, Mozgov had 10 points and a sweet dunk set up by Brandon Ingram. Julius Randle, continue to improve on those free throws, 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7-7 from the free throw line. That was a great win and a nice bounce back performance after falling flat in a winnable game vs. Dallas on Tuesday. Hopefully, they keep up the development and keep grinding out wins along the line.
