11/08: Rivalries Never Die - LAKERS @ Boston Celtics 2nd Half Open Thread and Discussion
This is the 2nd half open thread of Lakers-Celtics. As usual, leave a comment below and share your thoughts throughout the game.
Q4
LAL 96 BOS 107
Well, this is part of the growing pains. The silver lining here is that they erased that 21 point deficit and just got back to the basics that made them successful so far in this season. Unfortunately, they couldn't maintain the run. They went ice cold in scoring, committed a whole lot of mental errors, and they forgot to box out after some great defensive efforts. The opportunities were there, but they just didn't capitalize enough and the Celtics hold on for their 10th straight win. Stay tuned for the full recap.
Q3
LAL 81 BOS 87
The Lakers remain in striking distance. They've cut it to as small as two. There were a lot of chances that they could've taken the lead by the end of the quarter, but they missed some shots that might come back to haunt them down the stretch. And, there's a lot ticky tack calls going against the Lakers this quarter. The Lakers tried to draw contact, no whistle. Celtics do and at the littlest of contact, the refs blow the whistle. Bogus officiating this game so far. No matter, it's important that they keep within striking distance. Get some key stops and push to the basket down the stretch of the 4th quarter.
