*Stats courtesy of NBA.com and Yahoo Sports*

Larry Nance Jr. was the Lakers' top performer, recording a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to go with steals in the Lakers' dominant 93-113 win over the Detroit Pistons. Three other Lakers joined Nance in double-figures and each scored 13 points. The first one was Brandon Ingram to go with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. The other is Lonzo Ball to go with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. And the final Laker was former Piston, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to go with 6 rebounds. Julius Randle lead the bench in scoring with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Kyle Kuzma added 16 points and 6 rebounds and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 10 points.

Final Score: vs. Detroit 93-113 [W]

This game needs to be the game that sets the identity of this young Lakers team. We got the total package here: 1) an aggressive Lonzo Ball, 2) an aggressive Brandon Ingram, 3) great ball movement, 4) good team defense, and 5) the current bench rotation of Randle, Clarkson, and Kuzma pushing the tempo. I liked the activity from Zo in last night's game. Once the ball is in his hands, he is running the floor almost every single time. He only had three assists, but best highlight is his offensive rebound on B.I.'s missed shot and he just taps it to Brook Lopez for the easy deuce. And he dished out some good dimes to Andrew Bogut. As mentioned, B.I. had a solid all-around game. He's figuring out how to use his length on the defensive end to disrupt plays and as usual, he was looking to attack rather than settling for jumpshots. Of course, we can't forget about Larry Nance's hustle, securing 9 boards and getting most of his points in the paint. Randle, Clarkson, Kuzma, Hart, and Brewer bench rotation continues to work. Luke Walton better not change that up. The defense,in particular, was what's impressive from the Lakers last night. They weren't slow in backing up in transition. They rotated and closed out well against a Detroit's solid offensive unit. One astonishing stat is that the Pistons only went to the free throw line two times in the whole game. It was an outstanding job from the Lakers to remain disciplined on defense. Keep in mind, this was a Pistons team that just ended the Clippers' 5-0 start and managed to get a win against the Warriors at Oracle, which is always a tough place to play at. They are absolutely considered a playoff contender in the East. But, overall, I liked the all-around effort from this team. It'll be interesting if they carry this over on the road against Portland tomorrow night. I'll see you guys for that game.
