Lakers, Warriors Start Ugly, but the Dubs Pull Away Late

Alright welcome in to the full recap of the Lakers' divisional/geographical showdown with the Golden State Warriors where the Warriors get the better of the Lakers in Oracle despite both teams displaying sloppy play early in the game.

Most losses on back to back nights are understandable, but the Lakers in all honesty missed great opportunities because the Warriors were not playing their best tonight and the Lakers didn't cash in because they were shooting out of control and turning it over out of control.

The only positive I can think of this game is that we didn't make Steph Curry or Klay Thompson erupt this game like the last time we made a trip to Oracle Arena where Klay displayed an awesome shooting display. Other than that, Curry was held to 18 points on 33% shooting and Thompson was held to 17 points also on 33% shooting. Not the best game from the "Splash Brothers." At times, Lakers did a good job containing them and other times the Lakers were fortunate that they missed great, open looks. But other than that, solid defense on them, either those two erupt, the margin of defeat would've been much larger.

So onto the negatives: shot selection, turnovers, missed opportunity. Literally the same old crap. The Lakers committed a total of 24 turnovers, shot 33% from the field and 20% from beyond the arc. Awful, awful shooting display and basketball displayed by the Lakers, I literally wanted to throw up. The Warriors were gifting them with rare missed shots and boneheaded turnovers the majority of the game, but the Lakers were not accepting those gifts. Nick Young, though he finished with 20 points, his shot selection this game were horrible the same with Wesley Johnson, no field goals made for Wes because he was heaving low percentage 3's like there was no tomorrow all game long. Keep in mind both teams didn't shoot the ball well, but the Warriors' shot selection and ball movement is what made the Warriors pull away this game.

Overall, just a crappy game for the Lakers. Yeah Pau didn't play this game, Kobe didn't play and neither did Nash, but the team was young and athletic enough to run with the Warriors and they failed to rise to the challenge. The Lakers go back on the road for Phoenix, kinda a weird schedule because the Lakers had four straight road games, one home game, and back on the road for two. Then there's the Christmas Day showdown against the 2x defending champions in the Miami Heat and that'll not be a pretty Christmas to receive. I'll see you guys for that game, but stick around tomorrow because the Raiders have a chance to play spoilers against the playoff desperate Chargers in San Diego. I'm so getting my money's worth this weekend. I'll see you guys later.
