Raiders Become Victim of History in Season Finale

Alright welcome in to the full recap of the Raiders season finale against the Denver Broncos where the Broncos have set the record for most points scored in an NFL season and Peyton Manning sets the record for most passing yards in a season, dismantling the Raiders in the Black Hole.

First of all if you're a Bronco fan, congrats on being in the record books or if you're just an NFL fan, you just witnessed history this game. But as a Raider fan, this was an all-out snooze fest. The Raiders couldn't score for the most part against this team, but once the Broncos pulled out all their starters, the Raiders managed to put up 14 points in garbage time. If you wanna know how boring this game is: I was talking to a friend of mine, also a fellow Raider fan and we're just embarrassingly laughing pointing out how boring and pathetic this game was. Other than that, glad the season's over and we could move on.

Some of the positives, those two drives TP had connecting to Streater and surprisingly, Nick Kasa. Yes those drives were during garbage time, but at least it gives the Raiders something positive to hang around. I'm even surprised Nick Kasa was on the active roster today and he caught his first TD pass as an NFL player. Congrats to him. Other than those two drives, TP didn't have an all-around good game, but the positive I can say about TP is that he didn't turn the ball over this game, the botched snap on the second Raider drive was all Wisniewski's fault. Other than that, not a lot of positives.

The negatives: just absolutely no heart playing this game. I was literally getting sick to my stomach when the CBS commentators, Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots (although I think Kevin Harlan is a good play-by-play man because of his NBA coverage on TNT) kept talking about how good Peyton Manning and the Broncos are. Peyton Manning this, Peyton Manning that. The only time they talked about the Raiders is when they bring up their salary cap into the offseason. Yes I know off topic. But it did look like the Raiders wanted Peyton Manning and the Broncos to break the two records. No surprise that Peyton picked apart our secondary. I'll tell you this if Reggie McKenzie doesn't address the need of a pure edge rusher in either the draft or free agency, our defense will continue to suck. No matter how good the linebacker or secondary corps is, no defensive line with a pass rush, no defense.

Overall, just glad the season is over. It's pretty frustrating to see the last 3 games against our division rivals were all losses and even worse is that they're all in the playoffs. It's embarrassing. Anyway this isn't my last football related post. I'll be back on New Year's Eve to review the Raiders' season where I recap the whole season and address their needs heading into the offseason and I'll be back on February 2 to cover the Super Bowl. Anyways, thank you Raider Nation for following all 16 games on this blog. It was frustrating, but it was well worth it. I'll quick recap tonight's Laker game against the Sixers first before closing time for the blog. I'll see you guys later.
