LAKERS vs. Thunder Halftime Post

Score: OKC 56 LAL 51

Alright welcome in to the halftime post between the Lakers and the Thunder where the Lakers have come back and made it a game, but the Thunder still go into locker room holding on to a five point lead.

The Positives

Jodie Meeks 18 points on 4-9 shooting, 8-8 from the charity stripe. As I said before, Meeks is my dark horse candidate for the Most Improved Player. Just the improvement of his game has been impressive. He started off as only spot up 3 point shooter and a solid wing defender, now he is penetrating using his speed to make shots off the dribble rather than relying on the 3, consistency is there, but he can improve if he keeps this work ethic up.

Ryan Kelly, though he's not contributing much, I love his activity on the floor this game especially on the defensive end contributing 2 blocks.

The Negatives

Shot selection.  Too many missed shots, ugly airballs. Reason why Lakers are shooting 37% from the field, 21% of the 3 point shooting, a lot of questionable shot selection. I know Kent Bazemore, Xavier Henry were one of the players who shot some airballs and most of those shots were just taken from really bad angles. All in all, not happy about the shot selection.

Bottom Line

Short halftime post, now the Lakers have to make the next step of putting the same effort for the next 24 minutes. They're getting a gift today from the Thunder with their out-of-control play, let's see if the Lakers choose to receive it.
