Lakers Hold Off Pistons, Go Above .500 Since Opener
Yes the Lakers have been like a box of chocolates this season so far. You never know what you're gonna get from any of the players. In all three of their road games, the Lakers had 3 different top performers for each game. Against the Wizards, it was Jordan Farmar, against the Nets, it was Nick Young. Tonight against the Pistons, it was Wesley Johnson who was the Lakers' third top performer. Johnson recorded a season high 27 points including 5 rebounds, and 6 assists to help the Lakers pull away from the Pistons 106-102. Shawne Williams, dormant all season, had a breakout game he needed, tallying 20 points off the bench on 7-13 shooting and grabbing 9 rebounds; I read that the reason why he played so many minutes was because Jordan Hill left the game early with a sprained ankle and hope Hill's fine, but Williams played a heck of a game and stepped up in the right game. Pau Gasol added 13 points and 12 rebounds, Jodie Meeks added 10 points, and off the bench, Jordan Farmar chipped in 13 points and Nick Young added 12 points, although Swaggy P had an off night, just 3-12 shooting from the field.
