Score: TEN 6 OAK 9
Alright welcome in to the halftime report of the game between the Raiders and the Titans where the Raiders lead by a field goal at the end of the 1st half. I gotta feeling that this post is gonna be short because there are not a lot of highlights.
First off let's go with the positives: Sebastian Janikowski, aside from his missed field goal at the end of the 2nd quarter, it's just another day in the office. For over a decade, Sebass has been our scoring machine and it's no surprise that after a failed red zone opportunity, the Raiders can always rely on Sebass to put points on the board with that powerful polish leg and credit to Marquette King for his holds, a lot of improvement from his side.
Another positive, you guessed it the defense. Even though they gave up big yardages for the Titans due to a lack of pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick, but they're hanging around not letting the Titans score into the end zone no matter how deep the Titans drive into their territory and it's a plus on why we're leading this game so far.
Onto the negatives, the offense outside of Rashad Jennings. Jennings did have a cold game for the majority of the half, but he managed to get going rushing 55 yards on 10 carries and giving us positive yardage. But so far, the offense has been atrocious. Matt McGloin had like 4 deflected passes and the fluky INT from one of those deflections. It's nothing that can be addressed because McGloin's short height, but it's an adjustment that needs to be addressed in the 2nd half. McGloin threw to six different receivers with Jennings as the top tier receiver. Mychal Rivera took a hard hit while he was battling for the deep ball from McGloin and hopefully he's ok, it's unfortunate to see a player injured on the field, especially if it's a rookie. But aside from Jennings, Jamize Olawale and Rod Streater stepped up, but the rest of the offense has to get going.
The 1st half was a defensive battle, let's see if the 2nd half turns into shootout. Entertaining game if you love gritty, grueling football games, not entertaining if you guys love high powered offensive shootouts.
