Score: OAK 17 NYG 14
Alright so welcome in to the halftime post between the Raiders and the New York Football Giants where the defense has pretty much held their own generating 3 turnovers and 2 were cashed in on a TD and 1 for a field goal.
Overall that was an ugly half. But definitely the positive so far is the defense. Last week the Eagles took a massive dump on them and a lot of people were calling for their heads and started writing them off. It doesn't change the fact that we still need a star pass rush, but like the beginning says 3 turnovers and 2 were cashed in for touchdowns. The obvious muff kickoff, good awareness by Holmes to take it within the Giants' 5 yard line setting up a Pryor 1 yard TD QB sneak and the last defensive play at the half, Tracy Porter's pick 6. Porter does love playing against the Mannings and he's capable of making those kinds of plays, after all he made that Super Bowl XLIV INT against Peyton to help the Saints' clinch their first title. But so far, I'm happy to see that the defense is bouncing back in some way, although they allowed 1 Giant offensive TD.
The negative, well it's pretty obvious that the offense is a negative. Aside from Rashad Jennings, who always brings his A game every game and the TD off the turnover, the offense couldn't drive deep into Giants territory nor get into the red zone. Not to mention, the offense has committed the majority of the penalties. Khalif Barnes, I'm tired of him already. All I can say is we need Veldheer back. Watson is making his first start, one false start, but he's managing to hold his own. All I can say is, this offensive line needs to quit collapsing and Pryor's gotta know when to make better decisions.
Well the third quarter is underway and it's a good thing we kicked. We just gotta hang in there and not let the Giants hang around.
