11/19: LAKERS @ Houston Rockets Q-by-Q Reaction

Q4:

Score: LAL 98 HOU 92

Wow, what a game. The Rockets couldn't put the Lakers down and as gassed out as the Lakers were in that 4th quarter, they willed themselves to an improbable victory. Wesley Johnson stepped up big this quarter! He crashed in to recover a missed shot from Kobe and got the steal and the and 1 on a fast break layup over James Harden. It's tough to win back-to-back road games, but the Lakers did it. Stay tuned for the full recap.

Q3:

Score: LAL 70 HOU 75

I said the Rockets tend to get hot. Majority of the 3rd quarter, James Harden got hot, the Rockets are hitting their 3's, it looks like they were going to run away with it. Luckily, free throws, offensive rebounding, making shots to kill some momentum have played a big part to put the Lakers within striking distance yet again. They have to cut back on the turnovers and grab some defensive rebounds because that's what sparked the Rockets' offense this quarter and it's why they're up 5, when they should've been up by a dozen instead.

Q2:

Score: LAL 49 HOU 51

Kobe got hot at the right time as the Rockets kept hitting 3's. Both Kobe and Boozer are the only Lakers in double figures, who better to step up with the two out of three players (Nick Young) that can flat out score? Onto the halftime report.

Q1:

Score: LAL 21 HOU 23

Dwight Howard's not playing? Well that's gotta be good news right? Not so much. Without Howard's presence, it enables the Rockets to play small and stretch the floor. The Lakers made 3's early on, but the Rockets were hitting 3's down the stretch to put them up by a basket. Boozer had a good quarter, scoring 8 early points, but getting shut down by James Harden on defense? C'MON MAN!
