Lakers Fall to Thunder Late After Missed Game Winning Shot by Kobe
I managed to catch the final 3 minutes of the 4th quarter by the time I got home and I'll admit, that game should've never come down to Kobe Bryant taking that last shot, even though he should've kicked it back to an open Jeremy Lin instead of forcing it. The Lakers had a 3 point lead, all they had to do was grit and grind defensively and not foul, but they didn't get that memo. Ed Davis had his best game as a starter and was the Lakers' top performer this game, recording a near double-double of 18 points and 9 rebounds on 8-10 shooting. However, the Lakers couldn't hold on in the late stretch of a 4th quarter that had multiple lead changes as Russell Westbrook's 31 point performance helped the Thunder escape LA to a 104-103 victory. Jordan Hill and Ronnie Price rounded out the starters in double figures with 10 points from Hill and 14 points from Price. Carlos Boozer and Jeremy Lin carried the bench as Boozer racked up 14 points and Lin racked up 12 points, both filling the role of Nick Young, who finished with 10 points, after being ejected for elbowing Steven Adams. Kobe Bryant had an ice cold shooting night, finishing with 9 points on 3-15 shooting including the missed game winning shot that would've won it for the Lakers.
