RAIDERS vs. 49ers Halftime Post

Score: SF 10 OAK 10

Alright welcome in to the halftime post of the BATTLE OF THE BAY between the Raiders and the Niners where both the Bay Area teams are all tied up at 10 a piece.

The Positives

Derek Carr, 10 of 14 completed passes, 93 yards, 1 TD. After a shellacking last week against the Rams, Carr is bouncing back in a big way so far. Even with the 49ers having Justin Smith, Ray McDonald, and Aldon Smith, Carr is staying calm in the pocket and alluding away from the pressure. That TD to Donald Penn was awesome, I'll say that and that provided a little laughs and giggles from us Raider fans as that TD gave the Raiders the lead.

Defense. Defense has come to play so far. That Brandian Ross INT on the first drive for the Niners set the tone for the defensive unit that hey, you're in our house and we'll take it to you. Surprising thing is it's not Sio Moore, Khalil Mack, or Justin Tuck that's sacking Kaepernick, though they are generating enormous pressure and that helped Benson Mayowa and Antonio Smith gets sacks on Kaepernick, though we gotta stop him when uses his legs.

The Negatives

Penalties. A couple of penalties were unnecessary and a couple more were a bunch of BS from the refs. The Austin Howard penalty, definitely I can agree on that, that was a bad penalty. However, some of these PI penalties were just complete crap. The PIs are going the Niners way, but not our way, particularly when Butler and Holmes were contacted, those were not called, but Tarell Brown and D.J. Hayden were called on PI even though Hayden's was understandable. I thought that was a bunch of BS.

Bottom Line

Well at least we got the ball in the 2nd half first since we deferred on the coin toss. The Raiders need to continue to play tough against the more physical Niners. Please, Raiders, I'm begging you, show up for the 2nd half and fight on!
